Ready for a spring reset?

The days are getting longer. The sun is shining through the clouds (more often). The mud is slowly drying up. It’s getting warmer outside. We have a natural inclination to clean and tidy and purge our surroundings of things we no longer need and want to let go.

Spring is a natural time of transition and change and renewal.

Take a moment to feel your body. Mentally assess where you’re at from head to toe. Are you sluggish? Tired? 5 lbs heavier than last fall? Clothes fitting snugly? Constipated? Lacking mental clarity and focus?

NOW is a great time to reset your body, increase your energy, boost your mood, lose excess weight safely, reduce inflammation, and improve digestion.

Sounds great, right? Doing a spring reset does not have to be complicated.

Here are a few options from simple and easy to a complete 21 day cleanse:

1. Start by adding the 10 Top Detoxifying Foods for Spring (click link for previous post with more details). Incorporating these foods will help you shed the excess of winter (think cookies, heavy meat dishes, chocolate, etc.) and make you feel lighter and more vibrant for the spring and summer ahead. Go ahead, pick a few of these foods to add into your diet today.

  • BlueberriesBlueberries
  • Beets
  • Sesame seeds
  • Lemons
  • Sprouts
  • Leafy greens (kale, collards, spinach, lettuce, Swiss chard, etc.)
  • Garlic
  • Legumes
  • Cilantro
  • Green tea

2. Try a 7 Day Whole Food Detox (click link for previous blog post with a full outline). The concept here is that you eliminate processed and refined foods for a full 7 days to load your body up with nutrition. All of the vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, enzymes, fiber, water, and other goodness from the fruits, vegetables, and real foods give your body what it needs to eliminate stored toxins and boost your energy. Cutting processed foods also helps to jump start loss of “water weight” due to decreased sodium and helps to promote fat loss. If you do the 7 Day Whole Food Detox, be sure to incorporate the cleansing foods above.

3. Try the full-on plant-based 21 Day Ultimate Reset. I’ve done this several times now and LOVE it. It is also a client favorite. The recipes are delicious, it is flexible, and the kit includes everything you need to fully reset and revive your body for the hot season ahead. Wondering what it’s like to do the 21 Day Ultimate Reset? Check out this post!

There are tons of detoxes, cleanses, and detox-promoting supplements out there. In fact, if you start doing research on the topic, it gets really really confusing due to the massive amount of information and mis-information! Want help to sort through the chaos? Check out my post called 5 Keys to a Great Spring Detox.
