Fresh Fruit Skewers

If you’re looking for a quick and easy recipe for healthy desserts or healthy snacks, this one is really simple, fun, and delicious. Fruit is filled with vitamins and minerals and makes a great naturally sweet treat. If you have kids, let them help you make these fresh fruit skewers with their favorite types of fruit. These make a great dessert at a picnic or potluck too. If you (or your kids) like to dip fruit, try plain yogurt with a little honey or nut butters to dip the fruit into. Enjoy these!

 

Fresh Fruit Skewers

Yield: about 10 skewers

Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients: width=

1 cantaloupe melon

1 honeydew or small watermelon

1 pineapple (or 1 can of pineapple chunks in juice)

1 package red or green grapes

2 apples

1 cup fresh strawberries

Directions:

1. Chop all fruit into 1 inch chunks.

2. Slide a variety of fruit onto wooden skewers.

3. Serve. Store in the fridge if not serving right away.

Note: Use fruit that is in-season locally if possible. This recipe works with lots of different types of fruits so get creative!
