What If You Had Salad on Demand?

Yes, salad on demand. It’s not quite as cool as “Movies on Demand” but the convenience is the same.

If you had a salad full of leafy greens and fresh vegetables ready to go when you wanted it, would you be more likely to eat it? Of course you would!

Fresh raw vegetables are loaded with vitamins and minerals and cool your body down in the summer. Fresh vegetables and leafy greens are real food nutrition at its finest, but they only have a big impact if you actually eat them.

When it comes to salad, many people take salads with them to work for lunch or have some salad as a quick side of leafy greens with dinner. width=The truth is that it takes about the same amount of time to make one salad for one meal, as it takes to make one salad for 10 meals. When you have a large bag of freshly mixed salad in your fridge ready to go whenever you want it, all you have to do is grab a handful and top it with your favorite toppings like walnuts and dried cranberries, or tomatoes, black olives, and goat cheese.

Here’s how to create your own salad on demand. Take the following ingredients and prepare them as directed:

1 head organic Romaine lettuce, washed, dried, and chopped

3 cups arugula, spinach, or other lettuce, washed

3 carrots, washed, shredded width=

2 stalks celery, washed, chopped

Make sure that all the fresh vegetables and leafy greens are dry, then put them all in a Green Bag (available at most grocery stores) to keep them fresh. Holding the top of the bag closed, shake the bag to mix up the ingredients.

Now, you’ve got a full bag of freshly cut and tossed salad ready for whenever you want it throughout the week. This is a food budget friendly way to make your own gourmet salad mix with whatever ingredients that you want and enjoy. Storing it closed in a Green Bag will also ensure that the salad stays fresh all week.
